Biography[]
When Kryten contracted the Armageddon Virus from a Simulant battle cruiser, he started to hallucinate himself in a wild west fantasy. He was the town's sheriff and was fighting a losing battle with a drinking problem. When Jimmy told him that the Apocalypse Boys were out in the street, he went outside to parley with them.
The leader, Death, introduced himself and his 3 brothers. One of them was called Pestilence. He was a thin and sickly looking man, covered in filth and surrounded by a swarm of flies that he was swatting away constantly.
He joined his brothers in firing at Kryten's feet to scare him into leaving town. Later, when they faced the Dwarfers in the street, Pestilence and the others menaced Rimmer with their knives. When the Apocalypse Boys fired their weapons at Kryten, he survived their bullets long enough to release his dove program, destroying the Apocalypse Boys and the virus they represented. Behind the Scenes[]
Pestilence was played by actor Jeremy Peters. Despite having no dialogue, Peters received full credit for his role.
The flies that buzzed around Pestilence's head were animated and added in post-production.
