Mantis or better known as Mantidae sapiens.


Mantis look human except for the legs which resemble an Mantis body and arms.  They are a very organized spiritual colony and can get as big as six inches tall.

Mantis are the decendants of the ship's evolved lab mantis or Mantidae sapiens and have set up shops all along the Red Dwarf's Promenade in an alternate reality.  The Mantis kept very good history on their race since survival was their first concern untill they were able to get a strong hold and create a temple.  Once the mantis were established they had a strong period of growth before the crew began to awaken.
